What it is
Backdrova is a collection of 47 live background and wallpaper generators — gradients, patterns, textures, and organic shapes — that render entirely in your browser. There's no account to create, no watermark on what you download, and no payment at any point. Adjust the controls, and the preview updates instantly.
How it works
Every generator is a small, deterministic drawing function built on the HTML5 Canvas API. Each one takes a random seed, so the same seed always reproduces the same result — that's what makes the Random and Reset buttons predictable, and what guarantees your downloaded file looks exactly like the live preview: export re-renders the same function at full resolution rather than stretching a small preview image.
Design philosophy
The interface is styled after a physical photography studio — a lighting console, not a generic dark-mode dashboard. The amber accent throughout is a nod to a darkroom safelight, and the toggle-chip navigation is meant to feel like flipping switches on a piece of hardware, not clicking through a form.
What we don't do
No accounts means no server-side history of what you generate. The one exception is “Continue Where You Left Off” on the home page, which reads a small list of recently viewed generators from your own browser's local storage — that list never leaves your device.
